Sustainability Efforts - How this Business is Green:

1.   Our recycling program consists of:
We encourage recycling of all paper, post-it notes, envelopes, junk mail, newspaper, plastics, bottles, cans, electronic equipment and biodegradable (compostable) materials:  We use Earth911.org to find recyclers for almost anything.
2.   We purchase recycled products:
  Some post-consumer recycle paper stock
3.   When it comes to employee transportation:
We encourage our employees to find their own solutions:  We encourage working at home.
4.   In the break room we...
have employees bring their own cutlery instead of using plastic
5.   We regulate the temperature in our business by:
We heat and cool using the outside air:  We heat only small working spaces and leave the rest cold in winter, hot in summer.
6.   Our lighting in our business is...
100% Compact Fluorescent Lighting (CFL) and LED lighting
7.   Stand by electronics like printers, chargers and computer speakers are...
turned off or unplugged at night
8.   With regard to an energy audit...
We have had an energy audit and implemented the suggestions:  Water heater on timer (140 to avoid Legionella). Better insulation. Closing off unused spaces & not heating/cooling them. Few trips. New refrigerator & heat pump save more energy in a few years than the energy needed to produce them.
9.   When buying electronic products for our office, we...
Balance cost against energy efficiency but do our best to be energy efficient
10.   We take the stairs rather than the elevator to work.
11.   We turn off all computers and monitors at night which saves 4 gallons of oil per year per computer.
12.   Our computers go into standby mode after 1 hour of nonuse.
13.   We prefer to telecommute and avoid flying
14.   We do most customer business (registration, invoicing, contracts, etc.) over the phone, web site or through email.
15.   Our web site is designed with print friendly pages that only print the necessary information, not the unnecessary buttons and graphics.
16.   Our web site is designed to be fast loading by limiting the size of graphics and image files.
17.   We do not use Flash on our site or our Flash uses Vector graphics and text to avoid large bitmap image files.
18.   Our site is simple with minimal graphics.
19.   We use compostable products rather than plastic in our business.
